BEST OF EAST AFRICA SAFARI ITINERARY

  • DAY 1: Nairobi

    KENYA

    Upon arrival at Nairobi International Airport (NBO), your safari guide will meet and welcome you before escorting you to your vehicle for a transfer into Nairobi city and on to your hotel.

    Enjoy an overnight stay at Eka Hotel or Sarova PanAfric (4-star), or upgrade to the Nairobi Serena Hotel (5-star).

  • DAY 2: Nairobi / Lake Naivasha National Park

    After breakfast, check out of your hotel room and leave your luggage with the reception for safekeeping. Enjoy a brief sightseeing tour of Nairobi, giving you the chance to experience the city’s highlights, beauty, and history in a short time.

    You will then proceed to Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge for a hot lunch. After lunch, enjoy an optional afternoon boat safari on Lake Naivasha, operated by a local third-party boat company, offering a unique perspective for birdwatching and wildlife viewing.

    Overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge (4-star).

  • DAY 3: Lake Naivasha / Lake Nakuru National Park

    After breakfast, travel to Lake Nakuru National Park, located in the floor of the Great Rift Valley and surrounded by wooded and bushy grasslands. The park is home to a rich diversity of wildlife, including flamingos (both Greater and Lesser) and other water birds, as well as the famous Black and White Rhinoceros. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives to explore the park’s incredible wildlife.

    In the late afternoon, return to your lodge for dinner.

  • DAY 4: Lake Nakuru / Masai Mara Game Reserve

    After breakfast, check out of your hotel at 8:00 AM and travel to the Masai Mara Game Reserve, arriving around lunchtime. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive. The Mara is renowned for its Big Five and majestic big cats, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs, with wildlife sightings possible en route.

    Overnight at Mara Serena Lodge or Mara Sarova Camp (4-star).

  • DAY 5: Masai Mara National Reserve

    Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the stunning Masai Mara Game Reserve, offering excellent opportunities for photography. Thanks to its permanent water sources, the reserve supports a thriving population of plains game, and sightings of the “Big Five” – Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, and Rhino – are common.

    Overnight at Mara Serena Lodge or Mara Sarova Camp (4-star).

  • DAY 6: Masai Mara / Serengeti National Park

    TANZANIA

    After breakfast, pack up and check out of the lodge, taking a picnic lunch for the long drive from the Masai Mara. Cross the Kenya-Tanzania border at Isebania and Seronera, where you will clear customs and immigration before continuing to Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park via Ndabaka Gate. The name “Serengeti” means “endless plains” in the Masai language.

    The park sits on a high plateau between the Ngorongoro Highlands and the Kenya-Tanzania border. If time allows, enjoy a game drive en route through the Serengeti’s Western Corridor, a scenic area that supports a rich variety of resident wildlife year-round.

  • DAY 7: Serengeti National Park

    After breakfast, embark on your Tanzania safari in the world-famous Serengeti National Park. Covering approximately 14,763 sq. km, it is Tanzania’s largest national park and considered one of the most unique wildlife areas in the world. The Serengeti is home to the largest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, including wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, topi, buffalo, and hartebeest.

    The park is also renowned for its predators, such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas, and supports an impressive variety of birdlife, with around 500 species recorded.

    Overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge or Serena Mbuzi Mawe Camp (4-star).

  • DAY 8: Serengeti National Park

    After breakfast, enjoy another full day of game drives in Serengeti National Park, with a picnic lunch included. Your safari guide will take you through areas such as Moro Kopjes and Gol Kopjes, where the vast grasslands are dotted with rocky outcrops, each supporting its own unique wildlife communities. Explore the Seronera River, which winds through the park and provides habitats for a wide variety of birds, mammals, and reptiles.

    In the afternoon, stop at Nabi Hill for a memorable picnic lunch before continuing to the Malanja Depression and entering the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge, perched along the crater rim with clouds drifting like a misty waterfall over the edge. This deluxe lodge, built with volcanic rock to blend seamlessly into the crater’s contours, offers breathtaking views of the Ngorongoro Crater floor while remaining virtually invisible from below.

  • Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater

    After breakfast, get ready for an unforgettable adventure in Africa’s Eden with a full-day, 6-hour tour of the Ngorongoro Crater. Famous for its Big Five and home to the rare Black Rhino, the crater also features its own soda lake. Thanks to the high concentration of wildlife, you may spot multiple lions in a short period. Descend 2,200 feet into this natural wonder for an exhilarating day among Africa’s Big Five—Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Black Rhino, and Leopard—before returning to your lodge.

  • DAY 10: Lake Manyara National Park

    After breakfast, head to Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania’s most scenic parks, for morning and afternoon game drives. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park or opt for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, depart towards the village of Mto wa Mbu and the Great Rift Valley, before arriving at your distinctive safari lodge, offering spectacular views of Lake Manyara National Park.

    Overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge or Moonbow Lodge (4+ star).

  • DAY 11: Amboseli National Park

    KENYA

    After breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for the city of Arusha, historically known as a central point of the Cape to Cairo route. Continue your journey to Amboseli National Park, crossing the Tanzania-Kenya border at Namanga, where you will complete customs and immigration formalities. Enter Kenya and proceed into Amboseli National Park, located at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro (19,430 ft). Amboseli is renowned for its large herds of elephants and breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days. Time permitting, enjoy game drives en route to your lodge.

    Overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge or Amboseli Oltukai Lodge (4+ star).

  • Day 12: Amboseli National Park / Nairobi

    After breakfast, check out of your hotel and leave your luggage at the reception for safekeeping. Enjoy a morning game drive in Amboseli National Park until midday, followed by lunch at your lodge as you bid farewell to your Best of East Africa Safari. In the afternoon, transfer to Nairobi and be dropped off at Nairobi Airport for your onward journey home.

Best of East Africa Safari is a group safari and airport transfer as mention on the itinerary. Day 01 of the itinerary will be pick up and Day 12 it will be drop off at the airport. If you the client decides to arrive earlier than as per itinerary or choose to leave later, extra charges for airport transfer will apply.

National Park fees, are valid for 24 hours period from the time of entry. On all our calculation, we have included one park fees per person per day. In the case of clients delay, clients will be responsible for paying the extra park fees.
