TANZANIA CLASSIC SAFARI ITINERARY

  • DAY 1: Airport Transfer to City of Arusha

    Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be welcomed by our airport representative from Predators Safari Club. Our representative will meet you outside the customs hall at the designated pick-up point and assist you with your luggage. You will then be transferred by road to your hotel, with the journey taking approximately 1 hour. Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is located in northern Tanzania and serves both Arusha and Moshi. The airport handles a range of regional and international flights and is situated 55 km from Arusha and 46 km from Moshi Town. To ensure a smooth arrival, we recommend pre-booking your airport transfer in advance. The road transfer takes approximately 1 hour to Moshi and 1 hour 30 minutes to Arusha. Upon arrival in Arusha, you will spend the night at a safari lodge situated just on the outskirts of the city. This conveniently located lodge serves as the perfect base for beginning or concluding your safari, combining comfort with easy access to your onward journey into the bush.

  • DAY 2: Tarangire National Park

    After breakfast, set off for Tarangire National Park in northern Tanzania, a destination renowned for its stunning landscapes and abundant wildlife. Famous for its large elephant herds, diverse fauna, and iconic Baobab-studded scenery, the park spans approximately 2,850 km² and is considered one of East Africa’s premier birding destinations. Tarangire is a vital part of the Tarangire Ecosystem, playing a crucial role in wildlife migration, particularly during the dry season. The Tarangire River serves as the park’s lifeline, sustaining animals when other water sources disappear and drawing impressive gatherings of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and countless bird species. This seasonal congregation makes the park an exceptional spot for wildlife viewing and photography. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park, As the day winds down, retreat to Lake Burunge Tented Camp for a magical overnight stay luxurious tents, peaceful lakeside views, and the perfect chance to unwind under the African sky.

  • DAY 3: Lake Manyara National Park

    After breakfast, your journey continues from Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park, nestled between the cliffs of the Great Rift Valley and the shores of Lake Manyara. Though compact, covering just 330 km², the park offers an impressive diversity of habitats, making it a true treasure trove of landscapes and wildlife. Visitors can explore groundwater forests, acacia woodlands, open plains, and the striking soda lake, each supporting a rich array of wildlife and bird species. Lake Manyara is particularly famous for one of its most iconic attractions: the tree-climbing lions. These majestic predators can often be seen resting in the branches of acacia trees, offering an unforgettable sight for visitors. Upon entering the park, you will embark on a guided game drive in a 4x4 safari vehicle, fully immersing yourself in the park’s incredible flora and fauna. In the late afternoon, depart for Karatu Village, located south of the Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley, passing the lush farmlands of Rhotia. Along the way, take in the changing landscapes from rolling hills and patchwork fields to distant mountains—as you make your way to your safari lodge.

  • DAY 4: Ngorongoro National Park

    After an early breakfast, we set off for a full-day tour of the Ngorongoro Crater. Entering the park through the Lodoare Gate, we begin our ascend along rolling hills that reveal stunning panoramic views of the crater below. Our journey continues to the Seneto area, one of the main entry points where a one-way road leads down into the Ngorongoro Crater. This controlled, one-way system helps manage traffic and preserve the delicate environment. We descend 600 meters into the breathtaking crater for an unforgettable game drive experience. This UNESCO World Heritage site is renowned for its dense populations of African wildlife within a relatively compact area. On the crater floor, you can encounter majestic lions, elephants, hippos, wildebeest, and the critically endangered black rhino in their natural habitat. With its unique ecosystem, which provides year-round grazing and reliable water sources, the Ngorongoro Crater offers a safari experience like no other. Late afternoon ascend to the crater rim and drive back to Karatu.

  • DAY 5: Serengeti National Park

    After breakfast, embark on an unforgettable journey to the iconic Serengeti National Park. Along the way, traverse the breathtaking Ngorongoro Highlands and, if you wish, make an optional visit to the legendary Olduvai Gorge (USD$50 per person), often called the “Cradle of Mankind.” For a richer cultural experience, stop at a traditional Maasai village to meet the locals and witness their vibrant customs and way of life. This visit includes a USD$50 per-person contribution, which directly supports the Maasai community. Every turn of the road offers stunning landscapes and fascinating stories waiting to be discovered. Continuing along the Ndutu–Serengeti road, we will enter Serengeti National Park through Nabi Hill Gate, marking the start of your unforgettable wildlife adventure. At midday, enjoy a memorable picnic lunch in the wilderness of the famous Serengeti. In the late afternoon, embark on a game drive in a 4x4 safari vehicle through wildlife-rich areas—you might see predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and wild dogs in their natural habitat. After an exhilarating day on safari, we’ll make our way to our safari camp, located in the Central Serengeti, for check-in and to unwind before dinner. For the next two nights, you’ll stay in a mobile tented camp nestled deep within the Serengeti wilderness—an unforgettable and truly immersive experience. Designed to leave almost no environmental footprint, the camp blends authentic safari living with thoughtful modern comforts. Each ground-level tent includes a private veranda and is furnished with either a double bed or two twin beds. Inside, you’ll have en-suite facilities featuring a flush toilet and a classic safari-style bucket shower, which can be filled with warm water upon request. Solar-powered lighting adds convenience while keeping the camp completely eco-friendly. This is low-impact accommodation at its finest, bringing you closer than ever to the wild heart of the Serengeti.

  • DAY 6: Serengeti National Park

    After breakfast, embark on an unforgettable full-day game drive across the vast plains of Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife sanctuaries. The Serengeti is world-renowned for the Great Migration, a year-round natural spectacle. The movement of animals shifts seasonally, with herds traveling north to the Masai Mara during the dry season and returning south to the Serengeti during the wet season. Today, your adventure takes you through prime wildlife areas, including the famous Seronera Valley, celebrated for its abundant populations of big cats. Keep your eyes peeled for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, ostriches, hyenas, and a stunning array of birdlife that populate this remarkable landscape. Around midday, pause for a scenic break at a picturesque picnic site. Relax, refresh, and savor a memorable picnic lunch amidst the breathtaking wilderness. In the afternoon, continue your exploration toward the Hippo Pools, near the Seronera area. Here, you can witness hippos and crocodiles congregating in large numbers along the river—a truly remarkable wildlife spectacle and a perfect way to conclude a day of unforgettable safari experiences.

  • DAY 7: Fly from Serengeti (Seronera) to Arusha. Drive to Kilimanjaro Airport

    After breakfast, check out of your camp, bid farewell to your guide and camp staff, and embark on an en-route game drive toward Seronera Airstrip for your flight from the Serengeti to Arusha. Upon arrival at Arusha Airport, our airport representative from Predators Safari Club, will meet you and transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward international flight.
